The Notebook

release year: 2004
genre: romance/drama
viewing setting: home DVD, 2/14/09

synopsis: In a nusring home, an old gentleman reads to an older lady from a notebook, conveying the story of two young people in love in the 1940s.

impressions: Good love story with plenty of tearjerker power. I don't want to give anything away, but there are good portrayals of overprotective parents, class differences, and the confusion of young people who don't know any better.

acting: Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are the two young lovers from the story. James Garner and Gena Rowlands are the elderly friends.

final word: A good romance that will make you think about your significant other and your relationship.
