Ocean's Twelve

Danny: "You know, I was once in a vault while it was being robbed."
bank officer: "That must have been quite an experience."
Danny: "Yeah..."

release year: 2004
genre: action/comedy
viewing setting: home DVD, 9/4/13 and theater, 12/18/04

synopsis: The band of thieves from the first movie is reunited when their original victim tracks them all down and forces them to rob other people.

impressions: Good, but confusing. I consider myself to have a fairly high IQ, and I pay attention, yet I couldn't follow some parts of this movie. I conclude that either there are levels of thieving lore that I know nothing about, or else the plot's a little shaky. Actually, at the end, much of what we were led to believe happened...did not happen, as it turns out.

things to watch for: The scene where Night Fox acrobatically steals the egg.

something this movie has that no other movie has: Julia Roberts playing a fictional character who poses as Julia Roberts.

acting: There are so many actors here that I can't even begin to think about how to fit them all into this review. All roles were reprised well, and the two new ones (Night Fox and Isabel) were outstanding additions. I get the feeling that everyone involved has a lot of fun working together to make this movie.

final word: Confusing, jumpy plot and scenes don't prevent it from being a fun heist movie.
