synopsis: A small mountain town is found empty of all life, except for the strange creature that now stalks it.

impressions: This was a good spooky movie, based on a good book by one of my favorite authors. The monster attacks both directly and indirectly (psychologically) but it pretty much killed almost everybody by the end. Some of the scenes are really creepy, with people just appearing and standing there silently.

acting: Ben Affleck is the young sheriff. Joanna Going and Rose McGowan are the sisters. Peter O'Toole is the old eccentric scientist whose theories turn out to be true. Liev Schreiber is a deputy who acts weird both before and after being killed by the creature.

final word: Relatively unknown little horror/sci-fi movie that gets the job done and makes you think.
