Predator 2

release year: 1991
genre: action/sci-fi
viewing setting: home Bluray 8/21/22 and home DVD 3/27/10 and 4/12/2006

synopsis: Another Predator's come to Earth to hunt, but this time he's in downtown L.A.

impressions: This was another example of a pretty good sequel to a classic. You kind of know they'll never top the first one, but the end product was still very entertaining. I liked the violence, the bloodshed, the Predator weaponry, and the government/secret angle. I didn't like how the Predator "learned" some English phrases.

something this movie has that no other movie has: spine-ripping

acting: Danny Glover does a good job as the lead cop, though I'm not entirely convinced that he could have taken on the Predator one-on-one in direct combat. Gary Busey is memorable as the shady government agent. Bill Paxton gets another quirky role as an overconfident cop. Maria Conchita Alonso and Ruben Blades are other cops in the team.

final word: Decent sequel; it brings the Predator to the big city.
