Pride and Glory

reporter: "Be smart. They were protecting their own, and they were burying the truth."
Ray: "Don't talk to me about the truth. You got no idea what it takes to do what we do."

release year: 2008
genre: police drama
viewing setting: home streaming 4/14/24

synopsis: A family with several New York City police among its members deals with the uncovering of corrupt officers in the force.

impressions: This was a good drama that didn't cut corners on depicting crooked cops and their violence, or the mob mentality of some who want to take matters into their own hands. You have to pay attention because there's a lot going on.

acting: Edward Norton is the detective who soon finds that he doesn't like what he's unearthing. Colin Farrell is his brother-in-law who leads the corrupt group. Noah Emmerich is the other brother who leads the precinct. Jon Voight is the father, who's also a high-ranking officer.

final word: Very blunt and brutal depiction of how some corrupt police officers might operate, and how they'd get taken down.
