Puppet Master

release year: 1989
genre: horror
viewing setting: home DVD, 6/25/13

synopsis: Animated puppets from 1939 resurface with murderous intent.

impressions: This was...quirky. I realize that it's a bit dated now, but still, it was just odd. People did things for no sensible reason, and sometimes didn't do things that would have made sense. Still, the puppets were kind of cool...one has a drill for a head, one is strong, one uses a hook and a knife, and one spits out leeches. Since I'm about to watch all nine of these in a row, we'll see how the series progresses.

body count: 6

acting: Nothing to write home about. Several of the characters were just plain weird.

final word: Interesting but unusual 80s horror.
