Puppet Master: The Legacy
release year: 2003
genre: horror
viewing setting: home DVD, 7/8/13
synopsis: A mercenary goes after Toulon's final secret, in the process remembering all of the puppets' previous escapades.
impressions: This whole movie was just a recap of the seven that came before it, their basic plots and highlights strung together in a chronologically cohesive order framed by events in the present. While there's officially about 30 minutes of new material, it only felt like ten. One thing's for sure: if you have a need to resolve all the confusion by the various movies being set in different years, you should watch this one. It also serves as a good recap of all that came before.
body count: 1, not counting all the flashbacks
acting: n/a
final word: Useful, if not completely necessary, summary of the entire series to that point.
