Raiders of the Lost Shark

release year: 2015
genre: shark cheese
viewing setting: home DVD, 8/31/21

synopsis: A shark menaces people in a lake.

impressions: The downside of watching a lot of bad monster movies is that sometimes you have to watch REALLY bad ones. I saw this one's title and thought to myself, wow, they found some crazy way to mix Indiana Jones and sharks, cool, I'll watch it and it'll be so bad it's good. Well, that was not the case. There were no raiders here, no adventure, no ancient tombs, and no traps. What there WAS...a redneck police chief in Canada, an even dumber deputy, a miserable couple, a girl using her cell phone while swimming, a crazy scientist, an evil corporate chick, a flying shark. This shark didn't just leap into the air to bite people, it actually HAD THE POWER OF FLIGHT thanks to the crazy scientist. This film also suffered from the same horrible special effects as Sharkenstein. To give you an idea of how bad it was, at one point the disc skipped and we lost nine minutes, and we didn't even care, nor did it impact the plot at all.

acting: Barely worth mentioning, although I will say that Candice Lidstone (who played the protagonist professor woman) actually seemed to have acting ability and potential.

final word: Another bad one from WildEye; barely watchable, and if you miss it, you'll be okay.
