The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury

release year: 2004
genre: animated sci-fi/action
viewing setting: home DVD, 7/2/12

synopsis: Just after the events of Pitch Black, Riddick and the other two are captured by mercenaries.

impressions: At only 35 minutes, this was really just a quick way to bridge the first movie and the 2004 sequel. It does have plenty of fighting, good lines, and cool ci-fi elements.

acting: It's all voices here. Vin Diesel is the lead antihero Riddick. Keith David is the religious man, and Rhianna Griffith is the kid - both returning from the last movie.

final word: Interesting little side-trip within this series' portrayal of a grim future.
