Rush Hour

release year: 1998
genre: action/comedy
viewing setting: theater, 10/9/98
what I expected: not much
what I got: passable entertainment

synopsis: Sassy American cop teams with Hong Kong cop to find a kidnapped girl.

impressions: I don't like Chris Tucker. I don't like Chris Tucker. I don't like Chris Tucker! He's an irritating little bitch. His character in this movie would never make it as a real cop. But this is the movies, not reality. Jackie Chan did a good job, and there was much humor in addition to the fight scenes.

acting: Decent, for what it was (an irritating black comedian and an action star who speaks another native language.)

final word: It wasn't as irritating as I expected, but it wasn't a classic either. It was funny, though.

rating: C
