Sasquatch Hunters

release year: 2005
genre: monster horror
viewing setting: home DVD, 4/30/05

synopsis: A group of scientists and their guides go deep into the wilderness, and end up in Bigfoot territory.

impressions: It was a decent CGI monster movie, delivering everything I expected: a variety of characters, stalking/attacking monsters, and minor plot holes. In one scene, the monster attacks, and one guy chases it, telling the others to stay put. They don't, resulting in multiple different groups running around in the dark woods, which of course results in some of them dying. The special effects were pretty good, and the plot was solid.

body count: 7 humans, ? monsters

something this movie has that no other movie has: A Bigfoot grabbing a guy and using him to set off all the bear traps. Ouch.

acting: It ranged from good to bad to just plan annoying. The main guys were all okay, but the female park ranger was an overzealous ditz. I had to remind myself that this was intentional, meaning the actress did a great job with the role she was given.

final word: Solid monster fare, worth watching.
