Scream

release year: 1996
genre: horror
viewing setting: theater, late 1996 & 5/3/97
what I expected: a good horror film
what I got: a good original well-done horror film that paid proper tribute to the classics

synopsis: In a small town, someone's killing (no, gutting would be a better word) high school kids. As the body count rises, so does the mystery...and the terror.

impressions: This was something unusual: a horror movie that actually scared me at times. It was also very original, avoided most cliches while making fun of others, and was well-acted. I was thoroughly entertained and genuinely surprised at the plot twists.

acting: There are too many major characters for me to list here, but suffice it to say they all did good jobs.

final word: A must-see for any horror fan.

rating: B
