Sharknado 4

release year: 2016
genre: cheesy monster horror/action
viewing setting: home streaming 4/22/22

synopsis: Fin and friends/family alternately evade and fight various sharknadoes...and other nadoes too.

impressions: More of the same: ridiculous situations, even more ridiculous solutions, and plentiful cameos and pop culture references. The latter included The Wizard of Oz, Christine, and . As for cameos...among others, I spotted Dog the Bounty Hunter, Gunnar Hansen, Gilbert Gottfried, Daniel Logan (who played the child Boba Fett), Carrot Top, and a couple of women from the old Baywatch series.

acting: Ian Ziering is back as the reluctant hero...who's STILL just an ex-surfer/bar-owner who happened to fight off some sharks before and keeps getting really lucky, even as he continues to run into new members of his family. Tara Reid is his wife, thought to be dead and now equipped with mechanical parts and weapons. Tommy Reynolds is a tech billionaire who thinks he's conquered the Sharknado problem. Masiela Lusha and Ryan Newman and Cody Linley are Fin's relatives, who help out. David Hasslehoff is his father, who is now inventing/piloting some sort of mech suit. Gary Busey joins the madness as Fin's wife's father, who's somehow responsible for implanting her with life-saving weaponry.

final word: They continue to throw in just about anything they can think of; it's ridiculous but goofy fun.
