Sharktopus vs Whalewolf

Nita:   "What happened out there?"
Ray:   "It was a shark. A big one. With tentacles, maybe."

release year: 2015
genre: shark horror/action/comedy
viewing setting: home DVD, 9/9/21

synopsis: The sharktopus is still on the loose, and runs into a new creature.

impressions: This one was sort of fun, but also intentionally worse than the first two. There was a lot more comedy, including homages to the mad scientists of the first movies, a female German mad scientist this time, many innunendos, voodoo, and more. There were four CGI battles between the title creatures (0:29, 0:41, 1:05, 1:21) and a lot of random people being killed, eaten, or both.

confirmed sharktopus kills: 10 (plus a flag)

confirmed whalewolf kills: 8 (plus a pigeon)

acting: Casper Van Dien plays an alcoholic, perpetually drunk boat captain. Akari Endo is good as his policewoman ex-girlfriend. Catherine Oxenberg is the crazy German scientist.

final word: Entertaining, but not as good as the first two.
