The Six Million Dollar Man: The Secret of Bigfoot

release year: 1975
genre: sci-fi/action TV 2-parter
viewing setting: home VHS, 2/24/05

synopsis: Steve Austin, the bionic man, goes into the northern California mountains to help set up some geological equipment. He and others find more than they counted on, though, as a huge, hairy beast-man sabotages their camp and attacks their crew. It's up to Steve to solve this mystery.

impressions: Ever since my childhood, I've been a big fan of this show, so I tend to enjoy any episode. This was no exception, and in fact was one of the better episodes (I'm still trying to track down the ones with the Venus Probe.) There's a plausible explanation for the Bigfoot legend, plenty of action, and some good drama.

things to watch for: The battle between Steve and the Bigfoot.

something this movie has that no other movie has: A spinning tunnel that puts people to sleep.

acting: Lee Majors does his usual job as Steve Austin, but the Bigfoot gets a shot at acting, too (that's Andre the Giant under the makeup!)

final word: Required viewing for any fan of sci-fi or this show.
