Snakes (aka Snake)

synopsis: A group of people heads to a distant jungle to search for a curative fruit, unaware that giant snakes live in the area too.

impressions: Another Chinese imitation, this time of (mostly) Anaconda 2. A wealthy dying rich guy funds an expedition to find the "Blood Apple" which is on "Rebirth Island." Before the half-hour mark, a huge swarm of flying piranha has attacked the boat and killed most of the crew. There's also a karate woman, exploding jungle fruit, multiple giant snaakes, an evil old businessman, some bad CGI, people using martial arts against giant snakes, and more that I can't really remember.

acting: Tang Zin (the chubby guy from, among other movies from this studio, Snow Monster) is a geologist and the comic relief here. At this time, I can't discuss the rest of the cast, as nowhere in the movie were most of them named, and the IMDB entry also doesn't have character names...so I literally don't know which actors and actresses match up with which characters.

final word: Entertaining, if derivative, people vs monsters action.
