Sniper: Assassin's End

release year: 2020
genre: action/drama
viewing setting: home DVD 1/10/21

synopsis: Son of sniper is framed for an assassination, and must contend with his own government as well as a Japanese super-assassin.

impressions: Like the previous entry, this one was a lot of fun - just fast-paced, with lots of action and plenty of plot twists to keep you guessing. I was happy to get this as one of eight movies in a $9.99 multi-pack - great value!

location of mission: various areas within the U.S., plus Vancouver

sidekick/companion: none, but agent "Zero" served the role by taking care of things on his own

acting: Chad Michael Collins is on the run here, but still the ever-competent main protagonist Brandon Beckett. Tom Berenger is his dad, who's retired but can still use his sniper skills when necessary. Ryan Robbins is the mysterious "Agent Zero" who helps Brandon out by putting the pieces together. Lochlyn Munro is a jackass government guy in charge (although to be fair, he suddenly becomes a lot more likeable and useful late in the film.) Sayaka Akimoto is a Japanese assassin woman who's bad-ass. No Billy Zane in this one.

final word: Another great recent entry in the series.
