Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan
release year: 1982
genre: science fiction
viewing setting: home DVD, 4/23/10 and 1/17/03
synopsis: Kirk, his ship, and his crew are menaced by Khan, who was exiled fifteen years ago but has escaped.
impressions: This is, hands-down, the best Star Trek movie. It has everything: a good villain, a good plot, a lot of characters, and space battle!
things to watch for: The space battle...those are great.
acting: This was one of William Shatner's finest outings as Kirk - he didn't ham it up too much, and his character had both strong and weak points. Ricardo Montablan was Khan, probably the best Star Trek movie villain ever. I can't go into details on all the regular crew members here, but they all did what they usually do.
final word: The best Star Trek movie, and even if you're not into that, a damn good sci-fi action ride.
