Return of The Street Fighter

Costello: "Are you ready to die?"
Tsurugi: "You'll see."

release year: 1974
genre: action
viewing setting: home Bluray 1/30/23

synopsis: Temperamental and violent karate fighter Terry is back from the dead and angry at the mob...again.

impressions: More of the same: a very simple plot that aims the protagonist at the mob (and all the people they send to kill him) and lets him beat the living shit out of them all. This one had some interesting scenes (demonstrations of various martial arts weapons, a fight in a bath house, some training scenes) and also featured a punch that knocked the victim's eyeballs out of their sockets.

acting: Again, it's challenging for me to assess this given the dubbing/subtitling. Sonny Chiba is the tough guy who fights ferociously even after being injured. Yoko Ichiji is his weird little companion/sidekick who seems obsessed with being hip and cool.

final word: As with the first entry, this is watchable at least once for its numerous violent fight scenes.
