To Catch A Smuggler, season 3

release year: 2021
genre: TV documentary show (15 episodes)
viewing setting: home streaming 5/29 - 6/6/23

synopsis: Homeland Security officers at different U.S. airports and border crossings go about their jobs daily, inspecting people, vehicles, luggage, and shipped goods for anything bad.

impressions: This season seemed to focus more on border crossings (which involved a lot of vehicle checks) and shipped cargo inspection. Sometimes the latter led to "controlled delivery" which is where they actually deliver the illegal cargo to the intended recipient, then arrest them and try to figure out who's higher up in the chain. Either way, all of these efforts take drugs off the street and keep harmful foods (and the insects and other problems that often come with them) out of the U.S.

acting: n/a but a number of the officers show up in multiple episodes, and you start to feel like you get to know them after a while.

final word: Highly entertaining look at the work done to protect the U.S. at its borers and airportsd.
