Tremors 2

"You know...some people think I'm overprepared...paranoid...maybe even a little crazy. But they never met any Precambrian life forms, did they?"   - Burt

release year: 1996
genre: monster action/comedy
viewing setting: home DVD 1/19/23

synopsis: A couple of the people who encountered the burrowing underground monsters last time end up fighting them again, in Mexico.

impressions: This was a really well-done low-budget sequel. It carried the spirit of the original over, added some new twists with the monsters, and was generally entertaining. One minor complaint: a body count of only 3.

acting: Fred Ward returns as Earl, who's made some poor choices but decides to get back in the fight to earn some money. Michael Gross also returns as a competent survivalist. Christopher Gartin is the young kid/superfan who helps Earl. Helen Shaver is a scientist who's involved.

final word: Good, entertaining sequel to a fun monster film.
