U.S. Marshals

release year: 1998
genre: action/suspense
viewing setting: theater, 3/8/98
what I expected: a spinoff, not a sequel
what I got: a pretty good spinoff

synopsis: Federal Marshal Gerard (who caught the Fugitive) ends up going after a dangerous escapee who is not what he seems.

impressions: Well-paced and entertaining. It never slowed down, and it had an intelligent script. It wasn't so much a sequel as a spinoff, which is probably a good thing.

acting: Tommy Lee Jones did an outstanding job, Wesley Snipes did a good job, Robert Downey Jr. did a good job.

final word: Definitely worth watching, especially if you liked the Gerard character from The Fugitive.

rating: B-
