Venomous

release year: 2001
genre: epidemic horror/drama
viewing setting: home streaming 4/30/22

synopsis: A government project's snakes - containing a deadly virus - escape and infect people in a small town.

impressions: This was NOT a killer snake movie, as the cover might lead one to believe. The snakes are just there to infect a few people so the real story - a deadly epidemic - can be told. So this was like a medical drama, complete with evil government people who would rather nuke the town than risk getting in trouble for their past projects-gone-wrong. It was worth seeing, but you just need to know what you're getting.

acting: Treat Williams does a fine job as always, whatever the role; he's the town doctor. Mary Page Keller is his estranged wife, who's also a doctor but for the government. Hannes Jaenicke is another doctor. Geoff Pierson is the most evil of the evil government military generals.

final word: Decent epidemic/virus movie.
