release year: 2008
viewing setting: home DVD, 12/11/08
synopsis: An ordinary, unremarkable office worker finds out that he was destined for greater things.
impressions: Entertaining to an extreme - it was often over-the-top. I don't mind eye-popping stunts and physical contortions as long as they're within the realm of actual possibility. In this movie, characters (and sometimes vehicles) defy the laws of physics. The basic plot (involving a secret society of assassins) is interesting but I didn't like the direction they ended up going with it.
something this movie has that no other movie has: Bullets that hit their target and then return to the shooter's gun.
acting: James McAvoy is the wimp-turned-adrenaline-junkie. Angelina Jolie is a smirking, tattooed veteran assassin. Morgan Freeman is the leader of the assassin organization.
final word: Worth seeing once.
