War For the Planet of the Apes
"I did not start this war. But I will finish it." - Caesar
release year: 2017
genre: sci-fi/drama
viewing setting: home Bluray, 12/20/17
synopsis: Despite just wanting to be left alone in their wilderness home, the apes must contend with humans who want to wipe them out.
impressions: This third chapter in the modern series has all-out war between the two species, and to be honest, the humans are the antagonists here. As in the other movies, there's a strong element of racism going on, and some people who are easily duped/led. This was at times difficult to watch, but in the end, pretty much everyone got what they deserved.
acting: Andy Serkis is once again Caesar, the leader of the apes. Karin Konoval is his primary adviser and source of wisdom. Steve Zahn is a wild ape they encounter on their travels. Woody Harrelson is the bastard who leads the human soldiers. Amiah Miller is a young mute girl.
final word: Good sci-fi/action.
