Wild Beauty - "Solo Bushcraft - Building a Stone Cabin - My Safe Shelter and VAU"

release date: 10/7/2021
genre: wilderness Youtube channel
viewing setting: streaming 10/13/23

synopsis: This Youtube channel shares videos of a woman roaming the jungle and building, killing, cooking, and eating things.

impressions: This fourth episode (going by the release dates) is 27 minutes long and features a few subtitles to let you know what the woman is saying to the dog - whose name is revealed to be Vau! Other activities: she decides to build a stone cabin for shelter...moves a shit-ton of rocks (wearing neither gloves nor shoes)...builds a wall of rocks at the stream, and digs some mud away...chops some big bamboo pieces and splits them, then uses one as a post-hole digger...builds a series of poles and installs a rock wall between them...puts a tarp over the whole thing to make a roof...and fishes. Most of this work is done barefoot and as I said, her rock-moving work is risky since she has no gloves yet slings these big rocks around. As for the dog Vau, aside from definite confirmation that he's a he, he mostly sleeps. At one time, he did a bit of digging (though nowhere near as much as the woman) and she also made him wear a grass band at one point. She also had to push him away while she was digging - I think otherwise he might have wandered into the range of the swinging shovel. Also one time, a butterfly landed on the dog's back while he was standing around. His most impressive feat this episode was him suddenly jumping up and out of the stream; I didn't know he had that in him.

acting: There's no acting; this is a woman doing cool stuff in the wilderness.

final word: Interesting bushcraft/survival web content.
