Wild Beauty - "The Idea of Raising Weaver Ants - Midnight Was Destroyed by Wild Boars..., Part 9"

release date: 2/1/2023
genre: wilderness Youtube channel
viewing setting: streaming 1/15/25

synopsis: This Youtube channel shares videos of a woman roaming the wilderness and building, killing, cooking, and eating things.

impressions: I thought the arc was over, but no. This 30-minute episode is part 9, and is all about her building a platform/home for a bunch of ants that she finds and brings home. I had no idea what weaver ants were so I looked it up...turns out they "...are known for their unique nest building behaviour where workers construct nests by weaving together leaves using larval silk." They tend to eat insects that are harmful to plants, and also they're edible. And it wouldn't surprise me if Wild Beauty ate some later on. But tonight she doesn't - it's leftover meat and rice from last time. And both pets get their share too. And then everyone goes to bed...but there's another middle-of-the-night adventure in store, as wild boars show up and eat the garden. Wild Beauty bangs on some pots and pans to scare them away, but knowing her, a more permanent solution will get employed in the near future.

acting: There's no acting; this is a woman (and her dog and monkey) doing stuff in the wilderness.

final word: Interesting bushcraft/survival web content.
