Wild Beauty - "Stone Squash Planters to Avoid Waterlogging - Scarecrow Chasing Birds Wild Beauty, Part 6"

release date: 5/22/2023
genre: wilderness Youtube channel
viewing setting: streaming 1/27/25

synopsis: This Youtube channel shares videos of a woman roaming the wilderness and building, killing, cooking, and eating things.

impressions: This 38-minute episode is part 6 of this current arc, and it begins with Wild Beauty watering the new garden. Then she cuts down a lot of bamboo and builds some kind of frame over part of the garden...then goes outside the main house's fence, digs some post holes by hand, plants large bamboo posts, and starts building some kind of structure. What will it be? We don't know yet, but apparently it will require a lot of small rocks which she gathers from a stream and carries back to the site. During a rest break (she's sweating buckets by now) a closeup of her reveals her enigmatic upper-chest tattoos ("120469" and "010681") and her filthy clothes and her falling-apart shoes...and one senses that a bath (and hopefully some new shoes) are likely in her near future. But for now, it's back to work - the rocks and some dirt are used to stabilize all the posts. What the hell is she building here? We won't yet find out, because she then gets to work making something ELSE...which turns out to be a scarecrow, although in my opinion it's not very scary. To be fair, the monkey did approach it, take a good look, and then turn around and head the other way. At any rate, whatever happens next will have to happen in another video, because this one ends.

acting: There's no acting; this is a woman (and her dog and monkey) doing stuff in the wilderness.

final word: Interesting bushcraft/survival web content.
