Wyvern

release year: 2009
genre: horror/drama
viewing setting: home streaming 5/11/22

synopsis: A big winged dragon-like monster appears and starts eating people in a remote Alaska town.

impressions: Pretty good monster flick. The monster, by the way, looked GREAT - kudos to whoever designed it. The acting was decent, and most of the characters stood out. There were some bits of gore and some humorous lines/situations thrown in, but all in all it took itself fairly seriously.

body count: 9 confirmed humans, 1 moose, plus two scenes of mass carnage on roads, plus a helicopter

acting: Nick Chinlund is the main hero, and resembles Thomas Jane. Tinsel Kory is a useful DJ, and resembes Michelle Rodriguez. Veteran actor Don S. Davis is a retired veteran, and resembles...well, Don S. Davis. Erin Karpluk is a diner owner who cares about the main guy. Barry Corbin is a hillbilly. John Shaw is the rather ineffective police chief. Simon Longmore is a dude who seems to have no real job or purpose.

final word: Solid giant monster film.
