Beavis and Butt-Head (random sampling of early episodes)

synopsis: These are some of the earliest adventures of Beavis and Butt-Head, back before they got more refined and clever.

impressions: This review basically covers all of the early episodes available on Paramount Plus in late July 2026. Most of these, I don't own on DVD/bluray and some of them I had never seen before. I noticed that their criticism of the music videos was pretty harsh in these early days. I also noticed that a couple of the episodes (like 2.23) seemed to be missing their endings...not sure what's up there. And finally, Paramount has some but not all of the total episodes - after the 2 pilots (1992) there were 3 episodes in season 1 (1993) and 26 episodes in season 2 (also 1993.) Anyway, the episode synopses:

(1.2) Blood Drive - they try to make money giving blood; very early/primitive animation and voices

(2.5) Beware of the Butt - they take a picture of someone's ass at a drive-in movie

(2.6) At the Sideshow - they try to score with a circus performer

(2.8) Sick - they have bad colds and try to get medicine at the doctor

(2.9) Home Improvement - they take a lawnmower and wreak havoc

(2.11) Way Down Mexico Way, part 2 - they try to leave Mexico and get back into Texas

(2.13) No Laughing, part 1 - they get in trouble for laughing during every single class

(2.17) Stewart's House - in search of a pay-per-view, they go to their friend's house, and end up destroying it

(2.18) For Better or Verse - they accidentally write poems in class

(2.19) Bedpans and Broomsticks - they steal a patient's golf cart and drive through the hospital

(2.20) Babes R Us - they try and fail to get into a female wrestling show

(2.21) Yogurt's Cool - an ad on TV convinces them to try yogurt

(2.22) Heroes - they go to a shooting range, with disastrous results

(2.23) Sign Here - they inadvertently cause a petition to be born

(2.25) Friday Night - adventures at the mini-mart on Friday night (note that Paramount calls this season 2 episode 26, while Wikipedia calls it episode 25
