The Punisher: One Last Kill

release year: 2026
genre: action
viewing setting: home streaming 5/13/26

synopsis: Frank Castle, formerly known as the Punisher, is living anonymously in a slum and suffering from hallucinations...until the matriarch of a crime family he previously killed comes after him and awakens the monster again.

impressions: This was a television special, but unlike what you'd expect from Disney+ it is full of violence, blood, and profanity. Basically Frank's out of the game until this old lady messes with him, at which point he fights and kills dozens of bad guys. It started slow (lots of grieving and hallucnations) but ended strong, and the final message seemed to be that the Punisher was back and meaner than ever. Yes!

acting: Jon Bernthal slips right back into this awesome role from the Daredevil and Punisher TV series of the 2010s. There aren't any other major roles, just people drifting in and out of the events.

final word: Glorious violent action.
