The A-Team: Skins

episode number: season 3, episode 16 (1985)
viewing setting: home DVD, 2/16/06

episode synopsis: The team goes to Kenya to help a game warden whose brother was killed by poachers.

impressions: This episode was strange...it was almost like the producers wanted to make an episode that was different, and didn't contain a lot of the usual stuff. They didn't build anything, and most of the usual behavior was absent or at least subdued. There were some amusing bits - B.A. had to pretend like he wasn't afraid to fly so that he'd appear macho to the female game warden, and Hannibal put together a pretty cool plan involving turning the bad guys against each other. There was also Kong, an annoying monkey.

notable guest star: John Quade, who was the biker gang leader in Every Which Way But Loose and its sequel (and who was also a bad guy in a previous A-Team episode) is the highest-ranking bad guy here.

what the team builds in this episode: Nothing.

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: Drives a jeep through the head bad guy's house, shoots up his living room, puts out a cigar in his drink, and threatens him.

B.A. toughness highlight: Beats up most of the bad guys...which I guess makes up for being afraid of flying and of monkeys.

Murdock insanity highlight: Befriends the monkey and generally acts like he's on safari.

Face scam highlight: He and Murdock pose as British customs agents to rile up the main bad guy.
