Bad Asses on the Bayou

Frank: “Hey fellas. How ya doin' ? Looks like you're healing up real nicely."
Bernie: “Hell yeah. Much better than y'all did before we f***ed y'all up.”

release year: 2015
genre: action
viewing setting: home DVD, 5/3/15

synopsis: Bad Ass and his friend go to Louisiana for a wedding, but quickly get drawn into local problems that can best be solved by the kicking of ass.

impressions: Another unnecessary but entertaining sequel. As with the last, this is just a low-budget ass-kicking fest, and doesn't pretend to be anything more. There are some new characters, and also some gunplay in addition to the bone-crunching punches and such. There are a couple of other characters; Loni Love is an over-the-top woman, and John Amos is her pacifist father who eventually decides it's time to fight.

total number of people who got their asses kicked by Bad Ass: 12 (one of whom got his ass kicked twice)

total number of people who got their asses kicked by Danny Glover: 5 (one of whom got his ass kicked twice)

total number of people who got their asses kicked by John Amos: 2

acting: Danny Trejo played dozens of minor roles until he finally achieved fame in recent years. Danny Glover is his grouchy old friend who likes to hit on younger women. John Amos is okay.

final word: Decent sequel, more of the same.
