Deadpool 2

"You know what we need to do? We need to build a f***ing team. We need 'em tough, morally flexible, and young enough so they can carry this franchise ten to twelve years."   - Deadpool

release year: 2018
genre: superhero comedy/action
viewing setting: home Bluray 10/27/19 and 8/29/18 and theater 6/3/18

synopsis: When a tough soldier arrives from the future, Deadpool decides to build a team to stop him.

impressions: This one was a little more serious and a little less funny than the first one, but it was still entertaining, with plenty of action and laughs. They found a way to work in all sorts of characters - good guys, bad guys, and people who barely lasted a minute. Without giving too much away (which would be easy) I'll just say that if you liked the first one, you'll like this one, and vice versa.

acting: Ryan Reynolds is the wisecracking main character. Morena Baccarin is his scrappy, smartass girlfriend. Josh Brolin is Cable, a really serious and tough cyborg soldier on a mission. Zazie Beetz is the cool superpowered mercenary woman Domino. Stefan Kapicic and Andre Tricoteux were the voice and body of ally Colossus, while Brianna Hildebrand was Colossus' now-more-experienced trainee. There are a ton of other roles, including some cameos that could easily be missed.

final word: More of the same, not quite as fresh as before.
