The Fly 2

release year: 1989
genre: sci-fi/horror
viewing setting: home DVD, 5/11/03

synopsis: Seth Brundle's son from the first movie has some peculiar traits...some of them insect-related.

impressions: This was a pretty good successor to the first one. It's got a lot of the same elements, with the addition of an evil mastermind and a nasty head of security. Pretty early on, we realize that the kid's going to start mutating into a human/fly hybrid, and that's when things really get interesting.

acting: Eric Stoltz does a good job as the offspring. Daphne Zuniga has a cute role as a programmer who gets with fly-boy. There's some old guy who plays the evil head of the corporation, and he sure gets his in the end.

final word: If you liked the first movie, you'll like this one. I suggest watching them as a double feature, like I did.
